↑ Return to Ultimate Reset

Once you order and receive The Ultimate Reset, you may be a little overwhelmed by it all… I was. Going through it I have learned some things I find would have been helpful to know up front.

If you have a Facebook account, join the groups.  There is a lot of people there to help and support you.  Beachbody coaches and reset veterans are there to answer questions.

-There are some video’s with Carl and Isabelle Daikeler in the Group pages under Files.  There is info that you won’t find anywhere else.

– Make sure you watch the DVD’s in your kit before shopping or making a list.

-Seriously read the entire guide completely including looking at the recipes.  Don’t just go by the shopping list that you can download, make a list yourself from the recipes!   You can SAVE MONEY if you look through the meals and see something you KNOW you don’t like.  For example, I am a texture eater and do not like Yogurt or Oatmeal that much and I like blueberries, but not a huge amount of them.   One breakfast has all three of those as the meal.  If I would have look carefully, I would have know not to buy blueberries or yogurt because I could have substituted that meal.  Instead I gagged it down and didn’t enjoy it.

-If at all possible, take a day to prepare all your meals for the phase you are in… at least as much as possible.  Some require time to ‘marinate’ and some just take a long time to prep.  All the meals should be good to sit in your fridge for up to a week.

-Consider doing the Reset with someone else.  Ffriend, neighbor, etc.  You can save some money on the food.

-Some of the items were hard to find.  If you have a grocery store that has an organic section, there should be a lot of the products there.  I also found a lot at local health food stores.  If you absolutely cannot find something you want, you can order online… possibly vitacost.com would have it.

-It looks as though Millet is optional.  Oatmeal can be substituted for the hot rice cereal.  Flaxseed is only used once, so if you want it, I would suggest finding a store that sells seeds and such from bins to save money.

-I did not enjoy Tempeh.  It wasn’t totally gross, but I would not choose to eat it ever again.  You are able to substitute it for black beans or pinto beans if you wish.  Low sodium.

-If you are a coffee or caffeine drinker, I would wean yourself off of it before doing The Ultimate Reset.  I don’t drink caffeine, but I heard the first few days were a lot harder on those that have caffeine regularly.

-The snack is an ‘only if you need it’ type deal.  Try not to have it, but if you feel you need it, you should do it.  You know your body better than anyone else.

-If you do not like a specific meal or do not want what is planned, you can substitute for another.  It MUST be substituted for an item in the same phase and has to be Breakfast for Breakfast, Lunch for Lunch, or Dinner for Dinner.  I tried to stick with the plan as much as possible, but did end up substituting when I found out I didn’t like something.

-The guide explains to not drink water while eating.  Also, they suggest to not drink within 30 – 60 minutes after eating.  It helps your body digest food better.

-You are not limited to your water intake (just not during meals and a little bit after).  Try to drink about 1 1/2 gallons of distilled water a day.

-ALL drinking water should have the Mineralize in it.

-I used Distilled water for cooking too.

-Apparently a ‘pinch’ of Mineralize is about 12 shakes from the container.   You can put 1/2 teaspoon in a gallon of water and you should be good (I suggest this).  Again, ALL your water should be mineralized.

-Mineralize is simply Himilayan sea salt, so if you run out, use that.

Alkalinize is not that great.  It is similar to a shot of wheat grass , if you have ever done that.  People drink it in many different ways.  I don’t suggest the spoon stir, it is chunky and REALLY hard to get down that way.  A shaker cup with minimal water worked for me so I could take it like a shot.  Other people said they liked to add a lot of water to dilute it, while others take the shot and suck on a lemon wedge after.  Find what works for you.  After the first week, I had no problems with it.

-Detox, while some people REALLY liked the taste, I honestly did not.  Again some people use a lot of water and some people use a little.  Also, as a last resort you could buy empty VEGGIE gel capsules and put the detox in them.  Keep in mind, it will take time to fill them and it takes around 10 capsules in the 00 size.  (FYI, it does NOT make you run to the bathroom.)

Only Vegan Shakeology formulas are acceptable on the Reset.  It isn’t mentioned in the book because the Vegan formulas were developed after the reset.  There are regulations on how you can use Shakeology… they really want you to try the whole foods.  You can find Shakeology recipes in the Facebook group page under files.

     · Phase 1 you can replace breakfast with 1 scoop of Shakeology with approved ‘recipes’. When I did it, I used 1 cup of Strawberries and/or Blueberries.

     · Phase 2 you can replace breakfast with 1/2 scoop of Shakeology with approved ‘recipes’.

     · Phase 3 you can use as a snack with 1/2 scoop of Shakeology with approved ‘recipes’.

*Quite honestly, I have liked MOST of the food, but there were some meals I didn’t enjoy a whole lot.  I would be glad to go over the meails with you after you receive your Reset kit and let you know what I thought of the meals.  It will possibly save you some money on food cost if you have things you KNOW you don’t like.  Please feel free to contact me to discuss!!
